Why You Need Vision In Your Company (Not Just “Make Money”)

In this article, you’ll find out why a company needs a vision, and more than the view of making more money.

There’s a book called tribal leadership, it’s my favourite book of any genre, and it talks about the different stages a company culture can be in. The top stage is working towards making the world a better place – the employees in this type of company, will work towards making the world a better place.

This is relevant to you, and your business, because if you’re just focused on sales, and making money no matter what, you’re going to run out of energy, and steam. This is because you won’t be fuelled by something bigger than yourself, and your greedy little need.

Money is relatively easy to get, but something that people really care about, and real change, that’s not so easy to get.

Having something bigger than yourself, which fuels you, will keep you going as an entrepreneur. It’s not only about money, and sales, it’s about something more. It’s about something that helps people out. In my business, I’m looking for a hundred people that I can help create a large business. I believe that businesses can produce real change in the world.

If I can help people reach seven figures in a business that actually matters, then they’ll be able to influence a thousand people, ten thousand people, a million people, and so on. That’s what I believe in, and it’s not just about the cash, although the cash is good as well. The cash is very important of course, but you need a larger vision.  Something above your business, something that people actually care about.

If you can achieve this, you’ll see that people actually care about your company, and you’ll be more and more fuelled to keep going, and keep pushing through all the barriers, keep growing through all the economic hardships, and economic pressures.

The billion dollar companies usually have a bigger goal. There’s an example used in tribal leadership -I won’t mention the name here, because I don’t want to get sued, but they create medicine for cancer, and all that stuff. If you walk around a company, and ask people: “why do you do this job, who is your patient, who is your competition?” They’ll say: “my competition is cancer”. These people are willing to work really hard, and defeat the other competition, compared to other businesses whose only objective is to beat another rival company.

People care about saving lives, people care about changing the world. Think about how your company can change the world, and make a difference. Think about it, write it down, and stick it on your website. If you can do that, you’ll see that you’ll be much more engaged in your company, especially if you’re making videos, you’ll be much more engaging to watch, and it’s really going to help you.
