Why Is Video Marketing The Future?

SPECIAL UPDATE: I’ve been working on a complete video tutorial that explains every step of the way to getting movie-quality footage without breaking the bank.

You will know which gear I use, from camera to microphone AND how I produce the video to get it looking better than real life… Frankly this stuff is so good, it blew my mind the first time I saw it.

Now I’ve shot a “copy paste this to get the same results” video with my editor, which goes into full detail, step by step, on how to do this stuff. We’re talking easy-to-follow screen capture guide of my screen as my video editor edits a video without skipping any steps.

MORE COMING SOON. Now, onto the article.

Video marketing has changed business forever. Today, I’m going to explain why I think video is the best medium for marketing (outside of a face-to-face meetup), and how YOU can use video marketing to completely revamp your sales revenues and client base.

Video Marketing Trumps The Written Word

To put it bluntly, people are enthralled by moving images. You’re entering their home, their mind, and ultimately their lives when you have a projected image of yourself describing your product. For this reason and many others, video is by far the best way to maintain people’s attention for a long period of time on your website.

It’s Easier To Enjoy

If you look at the statistics for sites that have some form of video on their business page, the average visitor will stay 7 times longer than a page without this form of media. This is partially because video requires much less effort than most other forms of media. When reading a text, your visitor would probably need a quiet room, a solid chunk of “alone time”, and a level of alertness to take in the written word.

This is why less and less people read long articles or sales letters these days – it’s simply too much work.  They’d prefer to just sit down and watch TV – which is pretty much the same thing as your video, if you develop it correctly. Use entertainment and replay value to your advantage, and people will be flocking to your videos like they are do for the next hit show on broadcast television.

Video Marketing Is Easier To Consume

Marketing material made in the form of video is much easier to consume.  All your potential client has to do is watch and listen. Now, of course, there are a few skills that you’ll need to cultivate in order to release solid content through video, but not as much as you’d think.

First, when you shoot a video, people are much more sensitive to the quality of the recording, whether that be shot placement, audio, or a few other things you can figure with a bit of patience and common sense. You will need to pay special attention to these factors to bring out videos most pleasing to the eye and ear.

Get A Good Editor

Similarly, you will good editing. You either do this by learning to edit them yourself with programs like Adobe’s Premiere Pro or Apple’s Final Cut, or you’ll need an editor. I personally have a video editor who works on my content once a day. In this way, video takes a little more manpower than email or other older services, but it’s much more effective. I’ll tell you why.

People Don’t Often “Skim” Videos

With email, people may simply read the title and send it into their inbox trash bin, or perhaps open it and only read a sentence or two. With video, given the right shot placement and a short but exciting intro (whether that be through your own voice or visual cues), you are MUCH more likely to get your audience to stick around for longer than just a sentence or two.

To extend this point further, if you look at websites for online entrepreneurs like Clickbank.com, you will find that the highest revenue businesses almost always have a video sales letter. There’s a reason for this. It’s far and away the most effective tool for drawing and keeping the attention of a large client base.

SECRET: Retain Your Audience with This Trick

Another industry secret with video is to program it so that it can’t be fast forwarded or rewound. By doing this, you can keep your audience focused on one subject for an extended period of time. They are less likely to skim through your important information, but often will simply wait it out and actually take in the entire piece of media for more value.

The advantages of keeping your audience on one subject are endless. First, you can keep their attention through an entire story or “pitch” leading up to your product, thus giving more weight and gravity to the sale itself. Secondly, you can convey your own personal emotions in the video, giving credibility to your services and company as a whole. Lastly, you can make your videos almost hypnotizing for an audience if you know how to properly use your voice, the way you look, your backgrounds, and other factors you can learn to develop.

Build Value In The Background Of Your Vids

For example, let’s say you have videos of yourself a few times a week, but always in a new country. How much value does this convey do your audience? What does it say about the adventurousness of you and your company? What does it say about your curiosity and social abilities? If you just write about yourself, you can say anything you want, but in a video, people can see the truth for what it is, and something like being in a new country every few days says quite a lot.

Now, nothing replaces in-person meetings with clients and potential clients, but video is a close second. Audio would probably be an effective number three in your sales arsenal, and then finally written materials.

So, HOW DO YOU DO IT?

So what should you take out of this entire discussion, how are you going to start implementing video RIGHT NOW for the maximum level of value? I would suggest you shoot a video today and place it on your website.

It should be a video in a nice location, pleasing to the eye, where you are explaining who you are, what your company does, what it stands for, and why someone should choose your business over others. You can find editors and cameraman who can shoot it for you if need be, and they don’t cost too much these days.

This will establish your brand immediately in the minds of anyone who watches it. By placing it on your main website, they are much more likely to actually watch it. By following the earlier tips discussed in this article, you are sure to make an impact faster than you ever expected. Do it – there’s no reason not to. My personal experience is that it will increase your sales, raise your exposure, and lead to a much higher retention rate for visitors on your website.

There’s no way around it, video marketing is the future, and I want you on the journey with me. Come on, let’s go!
