Is Capitalism Evil (An Entrepreneur’s Point Of View)
I see some posts on social media from time to time, especially when there is an economic recession like there was a few years ago, that say capitalism is at fault. Then I watch the news or anything online that say, “This corporation did bad, this corporation fired people, or entrepreneurs are doing this bad thing and take money away from people in some way, shape, or form, and the government is trying to stop the evil companies from spreading.”

What most people see in the news is mostly negative about business. They naturally start to assume there is a lot of evil, scamming, and stealing from the people in business. Of course there is some of that going on, but the news is designed in a way to show you all the bad stuff right now because that is what gets the views and clicks.
I have noticed that my entrepreneur friends and I do not watch the news anymore. We do not go onto websites like CC, Fox, or other similar ones because we do not want to be influenced by the constant stream of negativity. I found it is much better to look at what words actually mean, what is actually going on in the world, and what the actual data is saying right now.
What is capitalism exactly?
Ultimately, capitalism is people working together evermore. The more capitalism – people working together – means there are more people who feel safer buying from each other and doing business together. Basic laws of economics say that more trade completed means more wealth is created.
If you look at countries with low capitalism, communism, or another form of government that is not capitalism, you can see there is an extremely low amount of trust. There are weird systems on how to trade because people do not trust each other. First people need to become friends, give each other gifts, and other weird things going on. In capitalistic countries it is more, “Here is the contract, here is the money.”
Countries with strong capitalism have more wealth and generally, weak capitalistic countries, per person, are poorer. Is that a coincidence or correlation? It is not really causation, but it is up to you to decide and make up your own mind about capitalism. For me, it makes perfect sense what is going on.
As an entrepreneur how do I stay ahead of the curve and stay positive and keep my business growing?
I do not watch any news, I read a lot of books, and I get information from fellow entrepreneurs and people are really smart, into science, reading books, scientific studies, working on perfecting their skills like fitness, copy-writing and sales.
These people are always looking at what is coming, what is interesting, what is happening, and what is the cool stuff that I can start learning or investing in. These people do not talk about all the evil and bad things that happen, but they talk about the stuff that is going to make the world, and everyone around us, go forward in life. Not backward and afraid, but forward and looking to build or create something.
This is what entrepreneurship and capitalism are for me personally – what do these mean to you?
