Why Successful Entrepreneurs Stick To One Thing
In this article, you will find out why successful entrepreneurs don’t go jumping from one thing to the next.
I’ve seen this with a lot of new entrepreneurs, they tend to get their early success in one little thing that they’re doing – sales for example. They’ll get their first one, and they say: “let’s go learn something new, let’s go learn SEO, let’s go learn how to do customer support”. They go from one thing, to the next, without ever going to the intermediate level, or even to the advanced level. They will keep hopping to the next new thing (This comes from the consumer mentality).
This is the opposite of the entrepreneur mentality, the entrepreneur creates the stuff, and the consumer is someone who repeatedly consumes. Now marketing, and the new media teach us that the new iPhone came out, the new this came, the new that came out. We’re conditioned to keep buying the new thing (the shiny object over and over).
This will kill you if you’re trying to start a new company, because in your company, you’re learning to master certain aspects in your business, like sales. If you can’t do this, if you can’t focus on the one thing you need to master, you’re not going to succeed in business.
You can’t just expect things to work out, because you got one sale in a month. You need seven sales in a month, you need twenty sales in a month, you need thirty sales in a month, etc. You need to master your business, and then after you think you’ve mastered it, you need to go and look at how other people do it.
Then you realise that you’re still a newbie, even though you think you’ve mastered it. That’s how the process repeats itself, and after you’ve actually become quite good at it, then you need to hire people, to teach them how to be like yourself. This way you can actually scale your business. It’s not a matter of getting your first sale, or getting your first early success. That doesn’t mean shit all. You need to repeat the process, you need to master the process, and master the skill.
If you can do that, you can actually grow your business, and become an actual entrepreneur. You won’t be someone who’s looking for the stimulus, and getting those newbie gains. If you have any questions, comment down below.
