How To Make A Video People Want To Share (+Real Case Study)

In this article, you’ll find out what it takes to get a video to trend; to get a video that will get a lot of views, spread virally, and get shared a lot. If you’re worried that your video doesn’t get shared when looking at all these other viral videos, and wondering why they get all these views, shared so much, and get all this money, when I don’t.

Here’s the solution: I’ll tell you the exact formula to make your videos spread. My YouTube channel isn’t focused on this, my YouTube channel isn’t about making videos go viral. However I do have a few videos which are doing extremely well, considering the niche I’m in.

My YouTube channel is to get me sales, to get me leads, and to convert those leads into sales. However, I do have videos like ‘Quit Your Job – Motivational Video’ on my YouTube channel, which doesn’t have millions of views, but considering the niche I’m in, it does have a decent amount, (22,500 at this moment). It is made differently from all my other videos, and that’s why it works.

The aforementioned video is done with a story, it starts with a sad story, how jobs are kind of boring, and you don’t want to be in that kind of a job. Then it progresses into how there is a solution, and it triggers all these emotions, it plays into what people are experiencing in their lives and in their jobs. It goes onto a positive solution, with a bit of a happy ending.

It’s a whole story with emotional imagery, with music, and it works very well – it’s spread very well, and it’s given me free subscribers, and views repeatedly inside my niche. As you can see, it’s about quitting your job: I’m targeting people who want to quit their job.

I will explain to you how you can create a video that’s both informative, gets you sales, and spreads. To break it down, informative means that people can actually implement what you’re talking about, which is actually useful. It has to be so useful that people say “it’s amazing” or “it works for my business” or “I implemented this stuff, and it’s getting me sales”. This will become social currency, which means if people share it; their friends will attribute value to it, because they gave them this awesome video.

I have videos that are informative, that people can use to implement in their lives, and their business, whatever niche you’re in. You can combine it with a video like this, by combining it with a story, which goes through various emotions, and maybe sprinkling your personal opinions and your experience. That’ll make the video much, much better – it will make the video appeal on a deeper emotional level.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t understand this for months and months, I really didn’t apply this principle. Now I’m starting to change my YouTube channel, to appeal emotionally to my audience. I first produced videos which didn’t have a lot of views, they wouldn’t get many views but they would be quite useful.

People don’t just want useful information, so it won’t do quite as well. Then I improved my YouTube channel, I started implementing more emotional triggers, more about my audience’s stories, and this worked great – this got me a lot more views, and sales.

You can implement this in your business as well, if you’re making videos for your YouTube channel, you can do the same thing. Tell the story of your business, tell how it’s progressed over time, how it feels, and so on. If you do this, you will get a lot more views. Tell a personal story, tell a story from your child hood, (tell stories people care about), relate it to them, relate it to their world. If you have any questions, comment down below.
