How Lizzy Grew Her Marketing Agency While Traveling

I wanted to share with you a great story from one of our Business Mentor Insiders (BMI) members, Lizzy. Her online marketing agency business has been doing great lately, so I invited her to jump on a call and discuss her progress. I thought her story might inspire you.

Lizzy says that in the last six months her business has really started to take off. She has seen revenue triple and her profit margins have increased along with them. She is now making over $6.9K per month. When she started with BMI she was working part-time on her business (about 20 hours) but was finding it really stressful. She says that she was a bit overwhelmed by being a freelancer in a big pool of other freelancers and found it hard to stand out from the crowd.

How Has BMI Helped Her?

Lizzy has found the mentoring that she receives from BMI instructors to be really helpful in helping her to overcome any problems and mental roadblocks that she is having. Through BMI Lizzy has learned to adapt a new mindset that has set her up for success in running her business. She is now able to think big and like a business owner, instead of like a typical employee.

Learning about sales has been massive for Lizzy. BMI has taught her how to create a more successful sales process for her business and how to present herself as an expert in her field. Lizzy says that successful sales are all about being confident in what you know and communicating that to prospective clients. BMI has taught her that there is no need for pushy and aggressive sales, it's all about offering value to clients and treating the relationship like a partnership.

Another big factor in her success according to Lizzy has been bringing on freelancers to support her business. She has hired freelancers to do tasks for her such as lead generation and project delivery; this has helped free up her time to spend on more important tasks such as getting on calls with prospective clients. As a result of working with freelancers she has seen her profit margins increased to 50% to 60% which is huge for a services company.

Where Is Lizzy Now?

Lizzy can now live and work wherever she wants. She is currently working from Ghana while visiting family and has been able to travel all over the world – all the while running her business. The freedom Lizzy has gained from working for herself has made it possible for her to dedicate twenty or so hours a week to work with children who have Autism, helping them to develop social skills. This would not be possible if she was still working for someone else.

Who Should Join BMI?

Lizzy says BMI is for anyone that wants to start their own business and has the motivation to work for themselves. You need to be prepared to put in the hard work and be the sort of person that works around obstacles put in their way. She says it can be easy to give up and go back to the comfort of ‘normal’ life and a job – so you have to have a ‘never give up’ attitude.

BMI is a great program if you want to get out of the employee mindset and start to think like a business owner Lizzy says. When you start to think like a business owner you start to think bigger and unshackle yourself from setting low expectations for yourself. If you want to have more freedom and control over your life then BMI is a great program for people to join.
